Costa Calida - Not your average Spain

Puerto de Mazarron
Puerto de Mazarron

A nice little spanish secret

The spanish already knew this some 40 years ago; The Mar Menor was a popular destination for spanish tourists. Now in 2009, Murcia's Coastline has only become more popular, with loosing it's original charme.

Beside the Mar Menor, the warm sea inside, this Spanish Costa has more to offer for the holiday maker. You can find beautiful historical cities like Murcia and Cartagena, which you have a pay a visit to when you spend a holiday on the Costa Calida.
Also, Mazarron is starting to become more wellknown with foreign tourists. Whereas people used to only talk about the Costa Blanca or Costa del Sol, you can now see a shift towards less knows areas, where you can still find the original Spanish infuences, like in Mazarron. Mazarron used to be a mining area in the Roman times, and was very prosporus in these days. You can still see a lot of the mines, which makes a great trip, when you don't want to spend your whole day on on of the many beautiful sandy beaches. Yes, you will find a lot of sun in this part of South East Spain, about 320 days a year...... The lowest temperature will be in January with around 17 degrees Celcius....Not bad....

Cheap Properties in the Murcia area?

Whilst times are tough for Spain, it's a good opportunity for people that are looking for bargain properties.

Prices have dropped dramatically the last 2 years and are sometimes at the level of 2001, which makes it an excellent time to buy a property in Murcia or Almeria

Nobody knows when it's the best time to buy, but it seems the prices are stabilizing, and it's a matter of time, before prices start rising again!
